Habitat for Humanity
About
Our chapter works closely with the Snyder-Union-Northumberland (SUN) chapter of Habitat for Humanity based out of Selinsgrove, PA to coordinate volunteering efforts. These efforts primarily include volunteering to do construction on Saturday mornings at local build sites where we work with experienced contractors and managers, as well as running fundraising campaigns on campus such as the annual rubber duck derby!
Bucknell's chapter focuses on four main areas: Building, Fundraising, Awareness, and Spring Break Trips.
Builds:
-Builds are held on Saturday mornings throughout the fall and spring at local build sites.
-Builds give different campus organizations (Greek, athletic, etc.) and Habitat members the opportunity to perform community service for the Union and Snyder counties.
-Information about builds is usually sent to members via email.
Fundraising:
-Rubber Duck Derby - in conjunction with the Lewisburg Arts Festival (April)
Awareness:
-Our chapter spreads the word about Habitat for Humanity at all of our Fundraising events as well as large campus events.
